RMS Sprayco Elasticoat

Sprayco Elasticoat is a cationic latex/bitumen emulsion formulated for use as a waterproof  coating to a variety of construction materials. The latex modification provides good low  temperature flexibility and resistance to softening in warmer conditions. It can be used on a  variety of materials and surfaces including asphalt, concrete and wood.

Application

Ensure the emulsion is thoroughly mixed before using, by stirring or rolling the container. The  surface must be clean, free from dust, oil, surface water and/or loose material before applying.  Porous surfaces such as concrete may be dampened with water or primed using 1 part Elasticoat  to 5 parts clean cold water, before brush applying the first coat and leaving to dry. Once  thoroughly dry a second coat is applied at 90 degrees to the first, to form a continuous  membrane. When applying to a concrete slab which is to be screeded, this second coat should  be blinded with clean, dry sharp sand immediately after application. This will protect the  membrane while the screed is being placed and will act as a key. 

Generally a coverage of 0.6-0.9 litres/m2 per coat is achievable. 

Tools may be cleaned with cold water before the Elasticoat has set, however if the material has  hardened it can be removed with paraffin or white spirit.

Storage

Keep in a closed container and protect from frost.
