RMS Probit 903 Polymer Modified Cold Joint Paint

A polymer modified cold applied cationic bitumen emulsion designed for the treatment of all  vertical and horizontal inter layer joints in asphalt and macadam as specified in BS EN 594987  and Clause 903 of the revised MCHW specification 900 series. 

Application

All surfaces must be clean and dry. Stir the product well before use. Apply to the joint by pouring  and/or with a dampened soft bristle brush to achieve a thin even coat.

For surface course joints, care should be taken to avoid surplus bitumen on the surface after the  joint is made. Coverage rates for vertical: To achieve 1mm residual binder on a 40mm deep joint  requires the application of 1kg Probit 903 per 15 Linear metres, and pro rata for other depths. Application rates will however vary depending on the porosity and texture of the joint. Coverage rate for horizontal inter-layer joints: To achieve a minimum residual bitumen layer of  0.50kg/m² to 75 mm either side of a joint as specified in MCHW Clause 903, the coverage  should be not more than 8 linear metres per kg of Probit 903. 

CLEANING: 

Wash residual material off tools with cold water before it has dried. Remove any dried film with  Armaclean Eco or Armaclean Eco Plus available from Jobling Purser.

Storage

Protect from cold (Temperature <5˚C) before use. Keep containers tightly closed.
